Casa Youth Shelter

Address
10911 Reagan Street
Los Alamitos, CA - 90720

The purpose of Casa Youth Shelter is to provide temporary shelter for runaways and youth in crisis, enabling them to come through the crisis with an increased personal strength and a sense of renewal while in a supportive environment, with family reunification as a primary goal.

Casa Youth Shelter provides emergency temporary shelter for youth aged 12-17. Youth eligible for short term shelter care include those who have run away from home, are at risk of running away because of abuse or any other reason, or for those who have been kicked out of their homes or are at risk of being kicked out. Sometimes family conflict is so severe that a cooling off period will help a great deal. Our goal is to provide adolescent youths with a safe place, and with an opportunity to stabilize their lives. It is always our goal to reunify our residents with their families if it does not violate their safety.

In addition to temporary housing, short term shelter care residents receive three nutritious meals with snacks per day, basic needs such as hot showers, clean clothing, and fresh linens for their beds, and are provided with a variety of Counseling services.

We accept residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Residents are often referred to Casa Youth Shelter by social services, law enforcement agencies, or by their schools, but a large number of our residents come in on their own as well.

Short term shelter care is available for up to 14 days. If necessary, an extension may be granted to ensure safety and proper care.
