As a resource center for people experiencing hunger and homelessness, Shalom supports people in their greatest times of need.
Shalom provides breakfast from 8-9am and lunch from 12-1:30 everday (except holidays when we are open from 8am-12 pm and serve one meal usually at 8am). Shalom also provided emergency groceries once per household per month.
In addition, Shalom provides other life essentials to help people stabilize in times of need. These include:

Overnight Shelter at A Friends Place
Shalom provides overnight shelter to people experiencing homelessness at A Friends Place, located at 919 S Rogers St. in Bloomington. Friends Place is the only nonreligious, emergency shelter for adults (18 and over) in our region. A Friends Place provideds 40 safe and sober beds, 28 for men and 12 for women.
The shelter opens at 5:15 pm. To access an available bed, please arrive at the shelter at that time.
Guests must not be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. Monroe County residents are given priority.
