Maggie's Place, The Mary House

They accept women who are pregnant and parenting. Please, no severe mental illness, active domestic violence situations, or current users (30 days clean, please). Women and children only.

The mission of Maggies Place is two-fold. First, Maggies Place provides for the immediate physical and emotional needs of our guests; such as shelter, food, clothing, and support. Second, Maggies Place assists in connecting our guests to the appropriate agencies and resources including prenatal care, health insurance, low-cost housing, education programs, and counseling assistance.
Maggie's Place has a unique staffing model in which moms and staff share a home together and we hope that the love that is experienced within our community life is transformational for all who encounter it.
During a womans stay at Maggies Place, she is challenged to set and achieve goals. Short term goals usually include counseling, health insurance, prenatal care, and connection to government assistance programs. Long range goals include educational opportunities, employment, appropriate childcare arrangements, and budgeting and savings, and independence.
Maggie's Place flows out of the Christian responsibility to recognize the innate beauty of motherhood and the dignity of every person. Our philosophy is founded on Catholic social teaching and our ability to love is rooted in a relationship with God, the source of all love.
