Gabriel's Horn Homeless Shelter

Address
792 McCool Rd.
Valparaiso, IN - 46385

Gabriel's Horn Shelter serves single women and mothers with children of Porter County, Indiana.

Gabriel's Horn Shelter provides a protected refuge for homeless women and their children by establishing and maintaining a facility which will provide for them a safe and temporary shelter and outreach services. We will empower women by giving them the tools to become self-sufficient through collaboration with our community, education, and counseling.

Transportation
Gabriel's Horn provides its residents transportation to work, appointments and school. As with all of our services, there is no charge to the residents.

Aftercare Program
For formerly homeless families, especially single mothers with children, having access to supplemental resources and a support network can make the difference between staying housed and homelessness. The Aftercare program provides support services to families who have moved into stable housing. The program is designed to provide continual support to women who are living in their own homes but are still in need of case management. The program helps families to maintain stable housing, social benefits and independence. Former residents of Gabriels Horn who chose to participate in the Aftercare Program benefit from having a support network and access to resources. The aftercare program can help women stay stably housed and prevent future episodes of homelessness. The aftercare program assists women with maintaining independence through advocacy, seeking employment and maintaining social benefits.
