  2. In October 2025, it was somewhat bad. Men's area, metal bunk beds, no ladders, provided one fitted sheet, for a twin. NO PILLOW. One emergency blanket. Warm enough. Locked in by 9PM, drove me nuts. TV and shows in common room, places to charge phone. Some folks up ALL night in the bathroom. Always watching your stuff, ALWAYS. Peers who seem friendly can very well be opportunistic, criminal-minded people. Was fed. Only a half-locker, no tolerance nor room for a full suitcase. Had case management, was great. Day center walking distance away along with an independent soup kitchen where you can re-enter the line over and over to store food for later. Church service. Women and children kept in separate area. Got so sick however, very poor ventilation, lack of open windows, building in need of repair but remains open for business. Safer than the streets around Denver Ave. Grateful

Do you have any advice for those wanting to stay at this shelter?

User Answers

  1. Watch your self and your things. Don’t get stolen, and try not to get banned. That would suck severely

    Answer posted on Oct 22, 2022 0
  2. Pack light or have more of your things stored elsewhere, no suitcase. Avoid fights, follow their rules

How long can you stay here?

  1. Typically, 30-60 days, cases are reviewed by your case manager, who you’ll meet once a week.

  2. I heard one man had been there over a year, I was never told I would have to leave once I secured a bed.

This place served well for the area. Run down building with poor circulation but not sleeping on surrounding streets. Meals everday, women and men separated. Church service. Case management. A nearby day center. A nearby soup kitchen that you can revisit the food line over and over. Decent resources for someone really down on their luck. Thieves all around, always watch your things, your phones charging, etc.
