Chez Hope maintains two types of shelter; emergency and alternative. Both shelters have separate living units for a total of six units totaling 24 beds.
The emergency shelter is housed in the agencies primary location in the city of Franklin in St. Mary parish. The facility is referred to as the Manor House.

Emergency Shelter
Access to the emergency shelter facility is 24 hours a day. The emergency shelter is also staffed 24 hours a day and maintains a sophisticated alarm system for security purposes
with 8 cameras placed around the building to assure safety. The Manor House Emergency Shelter has three separate units with a total of 13 beds. For handicapped survivors, that cant climb the stair, there is a unit located downstairs ( 2 beds) .
It is the policy of Chez Hope to have one family per unit for privacy. However, when emergencies occur, Chez Hope may place a second family in the unit until alternative housing is obtained or alternative emergency shelter is obtained.
Alternative Shelter
Alternative Shelter is an extension of emergency shelter but for families out of immediate danger with all safety plans in place but continues to need emergency shelter. The Alternative Shelter has three separate units with a total of 9 beds. It is the policy of Chez Hope to have one family per unit for privacy.
Entrance/Placement into the Alternative Shelter is not 24 hours a day through the crisis line as in the Manor House Emergency Shelter. Alternative Shelter residents must come from the Manor House Emergency Shelter program, after safety is no longer an issue, or from a sister emergency shelter program.
A housing meeting is held between the Primary Housing Advocate and/or the Director of Services and/or Executive Director.
Safe Placement
In the event the emergency shelter is at capacity and a sister program is unavailable, Chez Hope will house a survivor and their family in a local motel until alternative shelter can be found. This also includes male survivors.
