Tin Town Shelter
Bisbee Coalition for the Homeless (BCH) operates an emergency shelter just off Highway 92 in Bisbee, Arizona. While the moniker suggests that it serves only those who are homeless, BCH serves anyone who may be in need, offering a wide variety of services.
BCH is not just an emergency shelter, but is also a state and county recognized food pantry, as well as a Cochise County certified food kitchen. BCH provides roughly 1800 meals to those in need ranging from hot meals prepared by its staff and volunteers to food bags.BCH also has laundry and shower facilities that are open to the public for use. Understanding the importance of personal hygiene, BCH provides personal hygiene items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, and such. Blankets, backpacks, clean socks, t-shirts, and underwear are also given out.
The shelter uses case plans to require each client to be proactive in his or her transition back into sobriety, self-sufficiency and more permanent housing.
