Description: The "Finally Home" program was established in fall 2012 to help families with children and single individuals obtain permanent housing and become self-supporting. Local emergency shelters refer eligible families and individuals to the program, where a licensed professional social worker helps them find apartments and basic furnishings.

The Salvation Army pays rent and utility expenses for a period of time agreed to by both parties. When the household is ready to graduate from the program, the family or individual will take over their own expenses, remaining in the apartment.

Finally Home provides weekly case management with professional social workers including weekly goal setting for saving money and securing employment, among others. Client accountability is emphasized. Social skills groups teach budgeting, nutrition, child care and self-esteem building.
