Description: If you are at risk of becoming homeless or are currently without a safe and stable place to stay, please contact One Door through the Community Partnership of the Ozarks.  This is the first step and entry point for most of The Kitchen, Inc.’s services. Call (417) 225-7499 or visit them at the Springfield Affordable Housing Center located at 300 E. Central. A One Door service coordinator will meet with you to help identify options that may meet your individual needs.
One Door provides a central point of entry for many of the shelters and shelter related services in the Greene, Christian, and Webster Continuum of Care geographic area. Additionally, One Door maintains a resource directory for other social service organizations.

The Kitchen, Inc. provides temporary housing for homeless women, families and single parents with children through the Emergency Shelter program. The 50 bed shelter is critical in getting people off the streets and on a path to permanent housing.
Case managers work with each individual to assess their needs and barriers with the goal of moving them into another housing program of The Kitchen, Inc. within 90 days. Barriers can range from addictions and mental and physical health issues to education and employment and legal issues. Case managers also evaluate the condition, experiences and skills of those in need. Together, residents and case managers formulate goals and design a plan which utilizes these experiences, interests and skills to move each person out of homelessness and toward independence and self-sufficiency.
To find out if you qualify for this program, contact Community Partnership of the Ozarks’ One Door at (417) 225-7499 for an assessment.
