Description: Our program has three phases and a maximum stay of 45 days. Guests are able to arrive at 7 p.m. each evening with a reservation. Reservations can be secured by calling 211 from any land line in Lake County or 800-654-5465 from a cell phone. Guests depart at 6:30 a.m. and are transported to the Salvation Army at 69 Pearl St., Painesville.

Shelter Routine
    6 to 6:30 p.m.
    Catch the LakeTran bus at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office
    7 to 8 p.m.
    Project Hope staff greets guests at the security check-in. Guests sign in, sign up for showers and chores at this time.
    7:45 to 8:15 p.m.
    Dinner is served by volunteers
    8 to 10:15 p.m.
    Showers are taken in 15-minute intervals
    8:20 – 8:30 p.m.
    Smoke break
    8:30 -9:30 p.m.
    Complete chores and spend time with volunteers for bible study, music and other scheduled activities. These activities may include:
    • Visits from Extended Housing, Lake-Geauga Center, nursing students from Lakeland Community College and other community agencies
    • Bible study, praise and worship music, prayer
    • Testimonies from former shelter guests or other interested individuals. To learn more about sharing your story, contact us.
    • Free haircuts once a month from local businesses
    9:30-10 p.m.
    Evening chores
    10:20-10:30 p.m.
    Smoke break
    10:30 p.m. – Lights out
    5:45 a.m. – Wake up, make beds
    6-6:30 a.m.
    Breakfast when available, chores
    6:30-6:45 a.m.
    Leave for the day

Many of these shelters now have waiting lists. Please call before going to them. Many waiting lists are very long. Shelters and service also go out of business.
