Description: Life Haven Shelter is a part of New Reach, Inc. Life Haven accepts families with a female head of household and women who are 8 months pregnant. If you are in need of shelter, please contact 211.

We are a not-for-profit organization, offering emergency shelter for homeless pregnant women and women with young children. We are part of the New Reach Family.

Life Haven provides temporary shelter to homeless pregnant women and women with young children; dependent boys up to age 10 and dependent girls up to age 17. Each family situation is assessed by a case manager who develops an individuals care plan outlining the goals needing to be accomplished to secure permanent housing. The care plan is periodically re-evaluated to ensure necessary adjustments to the plan are made according to the needs of the family.

Residents receive intensive case management services throughout their stay a the shelter. Each resident is assigned a case manager upon admission to assist with a variety of issues including: housing, employment, health insurance, budgeting, and more. Case management also includes:
Linkages to Community Agencies
Individual Assessment and Case Planning
Weekly House Meetings
Life Skills Development
Connection to Clothing and Furniture Services

Life Haven utilizes Provide software and participates in local and statewide HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) data collection efforts.

Residents receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day. The menus are planned monthly to include a wide variety of healthy foods. Staff also plan seasonal menus and special dinners.

As of January 26, 2015, all individuals and families in need of shelter must call 2-1-1 for further assistance.
