Description: We invite you to contact Commonwealth Catholic Charities Central Intake or call them at 648-4177 to arrange a personal interview, or go in person Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 511 W. Grace Street.

CARITAS is Richmond's largest emergency shelter, sheltering up to 110 people per night, and over 1,000 people annually. We provide over 90% of the shelter beds available to single women.

The hard work of 15,000 volunteers and 155 host congregations creates a safe and hospitable place for our most vulnerable citizens. If bed space is available, Central Intake will refer you to CARITAS (or another participating shelter program) for emergency housing. Know that you are not alone and that help is available. Make the call.

Volunteers Requests by CARITAS: If you are interested in becoming a host congregation. It is a rewarding, life-affirming experience! If your congregation has not hosted before but would like more information on hosting please contact Anna Hardin at ahardin@caritasva.org or at 804-887-1595.
