Description: Faith Community Outreach Center (FCOC) in Albany Georgia is a homeless shelter for women and children. It was founded by Janice P. Thompson "as a place where low-income women can obtain the skills necessary to become self-sufficient and productive members of the community". Prior to the founding of the center, the only women's shelter in Albany Georgia was Liberty House for battered women.
