Volunteers of America Homeless Support Services - Family Solution Centers (FSC)

Eligibility
To be eligible for any service through the Homeless Family Solutions System (HFSS), a household seeking assistance must:
Meet the definition of a family.
Must be facing a housing crisis.
Because the Family Solutions Centers (FSC) help families connect with the most appropriate resource for which they are eligible, there may be additional eligibility criteria which the household may be required to meet.
Eligibility for FSC sponsored rapid re-housing or prevention assistance is based on the following three conditions:
Homeless or imminently at-risk of homelessness.
A family consis ting of one or more minor children in the legal custody of one or two adults.
Income at or below 30% Area Median Income.

Regionally-based Family Solutions Center (FSC) is a primary point of entry. The FSC conducts the an initial assessment to determine the most appropriate housing intervention for a family. Families are connected to services and housing options which help them stay in their local community near friends, family, and other support networks.

FSCs serve families who are literally homeless or imminently at risk of homelessness as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Households without minor children, where the mother is in her last trimester of pregnancy, and a mother diagnosed with a high risk pregnancy, are also eligible.
