Backstreet Mission is a faith based shelter that provides shelter to single homeless Men. There are a variety of programs that are offered at Backstreet to allow Men to stay from 7 days, 30 days, 60 days, and up to a year.
Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner is provided as well.
There are two working showers with multiples of wash sinks and toilets.
There are 22 beds located in one room.
The men may check in and out at varying times, depending on their work schedules.
Christian indoctrination is mandatory as a condition of staying at Backstreet Mission.
Mormons and Jehovas witnesses are discouraged from staying at Backstreet Mission.
What to expect when you check in;
1.You will have chores
2.You will pay to stay if you are there longer than 7 days or under 60 days.
3.You will attend their Christian service.
4.You will leave the facility most mornings by 8 AM.
5.The usual occupants/residents that stay at Backstreet Mission are on parole.
6.Drinking alcohol or using Illicit substances is strictly prohibited.
7.You will be given Pajamas and a towel in the evening, before bed time, in exchange for your state or Government issued Identification.
8. You may not have in your possession, any electronic device in the sleeping area although, it is not enforced.
9. There is no night watch person when the lights go out at 10PM.
10. You must stay in a confined area from 10PM until 6AM. If you walk into the security sensors at night, it will trip the emergency call to the Police which in turn will be grounds for removing you from the facility immediately.
This is a pleasant and fairly updated facility that is kept clean.
