A woman became rude and belligerent and told me to look for somewhere else to stay. I called to ask how intake works and she said they have rules but they can't tell me the rules. Odd, mean-spirited.

The shelter has only one land-line phone. The Sisters who run the shelter are very busy and often not within earshot of that phone. Be patient and you will eventually reach someone.
