Our shelter consists of two neighboring homes, one for men and one for women.
We are only set up to help single men and women. Those with children are assessed on an individual basis. We aren't in a position right now to house families either unfortunately. Our capacity is also only 12. It's a 6 month "program" to give individuals time to get one their feet, find jobs, and save money to be able to get into their own place.
UCH is a 501(c)(3) organization, established to provide temporary, emergency shelter to those who are homeless in the Minden, Louisiana area.
Intake: We do not have any set times for intake. We do have a 24 hour waiting period to provide us time to get drug screens and background checks.
We have a zero tolerance drug policy, therefore we take those screens before processing.
