Ujima Village is a low threshold shelter (not a lot of rules that can be barriers to getting basic needs) serving homeless young people of all genders, ages 18-24. No minors or babies permitted in the facility. Intake is from 8pm to 8:30pm and young people can simply come to the door to get a bed. Ujima is only open overnight from 8pm to 8am and offers dinner, breakfast, safe beds, showers, laundry and voluntary social services.

Tags Donations Needed: Athletic socks; travel size hygiene items; seasonal outter-ware (hoodies, hats, scarves, waterproof mens' gloves, puffy coats); PPE supplies like large and extra large disposable gloves, disposable face masks, alcohol, Lysol spray, hand sanitizer, disinfectant and cleaning supplies; linens (bath towels, face cloths, twin/single sheets or blankets). Volunteers Needed: Yes! Volunteers are welcome in doing drives for the needed items listed above as well as a Holiday gift drive, or in leading festivities or activities at the shelter. Social Service professionals with experience in leading life skill groups or working with young fathers are also welcome.
