Linn Benton Food Share

Linn Benton Food Share (LBFS) provides food to the local community through a network of 68 non profit partners such as food pantries, meal sites, gleaning groups and supplemental agencies.

Direct Services Provided:
Commodity Supplemental Food Program: Once-a-month supplemental food box are delivered to seniors 60 years and older.
SHARE Medical Food Box Program: Provides immediate food at discharge from Albany and Lebanon Samaritan hospitals. Follow up delivery of food box at patients home address
Fresh Alliance Program: In partnership with local grocery stores, LBFS collects dairy, milk, produce, meat and other products and distributes the products immediately to its network of partner agencies
Food Rescue Program:LBFS collects "prepared but not served" food from the OSU campus. Food is distributed immediately to meal site locations in Linn and Benton counties.


Types of Network Agencies:
Emergency Food Boxes (Food Pantries): Local food pantries provide a 3-5 day supply of food to individuals and families at or below the 185% of the federal poverty rate.
Emergency Meal Sites (Soup Kitchens) and Shelters: Emergency meal sites provide a free meal to individuals and/or families seeking assistance. Emergency shelters provide safe havens and meal services for families, youth, and individuals who do not have access to a safe place to spend the night.
Supplemental, Non-Emergency Programs: These non-profit agencies serve low-income individuals/families and food is part of the program services. The agencies include child care centers, drug & alcohol rehabilitation centers, group homes, senior care facilities, and weekend backpack programs.
Gleaning Groups: Gleaning groups are non-profit organizations, consisting of and run by low-income beneficiaries.
