Description: Intake for shelters in Lucas County are processed through the United Way. For immediate assistance, please dial 2-1-1 from any landline or 1-800-650-HELP to connect with an Information & Referral Specialist. Call 419-241-9277 ext. 102 for all other program & service inquiries; email & voicemail are not monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The only shelter in Toledo that serves both single women and families. Beach House provides over 8000 lodgings and 13,000 meals annually. 35% of people sheltered are children. Mission: To help homeless women and families regain independence.

Services
Opportunities:
    access housing, employment and education assistance
    access medical, mental and spiritual health benefits
    learn basic living, budgeting, nutrition and self management skills
    participate in a goal directed living program
    establish supportive relationships
    take the steps necessary to ensure a successful re-entry into independent family living
Facilities:
    22 beds, 2 junior beds, and 5 cribs
    six bedrooms on the second floor
    one bedroom for disabled residents on the first floor
    handicapped accessible facilities and entrance on the first floor
    three bathrooms for resident use
    large living room for socializing, learning, craft night, game night and a play area for children
    meeting area for group meetings
    resident phone
    privacy fence, alarm service and 24 hour surveillance in and outside
    playground and large back and side yard
    laundry facilities
    large dining room for family-style meals
    commercial range, refrigerator, freezers, dishwasher, and microwave oven

Many of these shelters now have waiting lists. Please call before going to them. Many waiting lists are very long. Shelters and service also go out of business.
