Description: The mission of the Shalom Center is to serve the community by providing emergency food, shelter, and support in ways that meet immediate needs and respect human dignity.
Individuals in Need of Nightly Shelter (INNS)
The INNS Program provides temporary emergency nightly shelter for homeless individuals. This program operates in our building at 4314 39th Avenue in Kenosha 365 days per year with an average of about 30 guests each night. Guests receive a bed for the night plus an evening meal in our soup kitchen, breakfast, lunch, and personal care items. Case managers engage with these guests weekly to work on individual goals and action plans to find employment, to schedule clients for classes, housing and other supportive services to meet their needs. Our shelter programs are staffed by a Shelter Director, Shelter Manager, 3 full-time case managers, 18 part-time employees and many volunteers.
