I went to Hospitality House to apply for a position there. I am not on drugs or alcohol and I have three degrees. I met two occupants of Hospitality House at a coffee shop before I applied, I asked them what their experience was like there. And they had nothing but positive things to say about services they were receiving. Everyone was very warm and welcoming. I would be grateful to have the opportunity to work there. As far as I can see, they are doing great work by serving the community.

What a joke this place is. In fact is is like all the shelters. They hire ex drug addicts, alcoholics, criminals and the mentally ill and think they are going to do a great And since they are basically the same as those they serve, they LOVE TO play favorites. In fact I found out through research that the worse someone is the more money they get from the state or in donations. Another interesting thing about places like this claiming to help the poor (lol) is the favorites are often in need of a PAYEE, these PAYEES sign on a legal guardians over the incapable clients finances, and many of them are hoping they die from DRUGS and ALCOHOL, that way they get sole custody of their money after death....hmmmm? I have talked to so many who said that these shelters don't really help anyone. They pick a few once in a while, so everything looks like thy are doing their job when in fact they are not. That is how it works...Do very little work, so it looks like your being successful, while the monies keep pouring in...all the while 90% are falling through the cracks....and the more you have your act together the more they push you away...WHY? because they don't want smart people who can figure thins out, and they don't want someone who ins't a cash cow for them. The stealing that goes on there is ridiculous, and it's mostly theft by the staff. The do not make any common sense when they do wrong and if you try an reason with them, they call the police or kick you out or both. It is suppose to be a DRY SHELTER, but so many in there are on meth, alcohol, pills, and heroine. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
