Description: The Children's Crisis Center of Hampton Roads provides emergency crisis assistance, housing, and support for underprivileged and at-risk families with disabilities. Children's Crisis Center of Hampton Roads assists families through a unique program supporting children with disabilities and other at-risk children who oftentimes suffer when their parents cannot provide for them, do not have the skills to care for them or when there is an issue which results in abuse or neglect.

Volunteers Requests by Children's Crisis Center of Hampton Roads: Volunteers can play an active role in programs that help adults and children who have been impacted by crisis and suffer from disabilities. People from all walks of life donate their time and skills to provide a variety of support and services. Their contributions assist the organization to serve a greater number of people in need and to operate cost-effective programs. Who volunteers at Children's Crisis Center of Hampton Roads Men and women at least 18 years of age Student interns Religious, business and youth groups Concerned individuals Retired persons Volunteer opportunities Mentoring Office support Fund development Student placements - casework, group work, community organization and public policy bachelor and master’s level academic internships Donation coordinator - You can volunteer to coordinate with your business, school or faith group to collect bookbags for school time, toys during the holiday season or gift cards for children or caregivers. Donation Requests by Children's Crisis Center of Hampton Roads: Our families are always in need of clothing, toys, and educational materials. 100% of donations including monetary support goes directly to supporting the families and are tax deductible.

Many of these shelters now have waiting lists. Please call before going to them. Many waiting lists are very long. Shelters and service also go out of business.
