Sumter Mission Outreach (SMO) is a discipleship ministry housing men and women at two different locations in Sumter SC. The mission provides clothing, housing, food, discipleship, and many other opportunities for men and women who have struggled with homelessness and addictions. SMO provides men and women with hope and with prospects of not just a new life on earth but with finding their place in Christ. Members of the houses give back to the community by feeding the homeless and ministering to all those in need. The mission is a 501C3 and is totally dependent on donations. Board members include a local judge, a former substance abuse councilor, a police officer (a graduate of LU and current Master's degree student), a Christian school principal, and a former pastor.
