Description: Safe Haven of Mt. Carmel Illinois, Inc. is a private (non-state funded) temporary Emergency Shelter for homeless women and their children in the greater Wabash County Area of Southeastern Illinois.

The following are requirements for individuals seeking temporary emergency shelter at Save Haven of Mount Carmel.

An applicant must be in one of the following categories:

A female over the age of 18.
A female over the 18 and her minor children under the age of 17.
An emancipated female minor with or .without children.

Important:
Many of these shelters now have waiting lists. Please call before going to them. Many waiting lists are very long. Shelters and service also go out of business.
