Transitional Housing, Emergency Shelter, Family Housing:
The Meeting Place Mission Is a transitional housing program for homeless men in recovery from alcoholism or substance abuse.
The Meeting Place provides housing, meals, counseling, job placement, and referral to other services.
The Meeting Place currently uses 3 locations to transition residents into permanent housing.
Our Men's shelter also houses the chronically homeless on an emergency basis.
F.A.C.E.S. Families Adjusting, Changing, Evolving Safely In Spring of 2011 FACES Launched with two families ready to transition from homelessness into permanent housing. By Fall of 2012 we had assisted more than 10 families. In 2013 we added 4 more families to our program. Some only needed a safe place to 'land' and get themselves together, develop a plan, and rapidly move toward their goal. Others have needed more assistance, time, and case management. Each family is unique, and we are committed to helping them succeed. Burke Shelter for Women & Children As the needs of our community change, we are compelled to help provide emergency shelter for women and children with no place to spend the night. In order to fully assess the need we opened the shelter. More than 120 unique individuals stayed in 2012. In 2013 that number increased, and we are finding that a transitional program for women is desperately needed.

User Answers

  1. Great place, homelike environment, but didn't like the fact women and children had to walk the streets all day. Trying to recover from addiction was very difficult when having to go eat and hang around town with other addicts.
