A once treasured and much needed aid to the homeless population of Philadelphia is now a complete disgrace. The food is excellent (however they do not give seconds). The biggest problem today is the over comers have become totalitarian tyrants. If you voice any form of dissent they will immediately evict. The building entrance requirements have become more restrictive than a federal building during defcon 5. In conclusion the staff currently employed (except for a few chaplains) should immediately be re schooled in the principals of Christ. They should undergo both communication and security skills training. These seminars should be given by professionals. The objective being to make the residents feel comfortable and welcome.

Description: *Three meals served every day for men, women and children *Overnight emergency shelter for men *Long-term residential recovery program for men *Transitional housing program for women (and children) at separate location.

Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission is the third oldest Rescue Mission in the country. Founded in 1878, we have reached out to the homeless in Philadelphia for more than 130 years. Originally named the Sunday Breakfast Association, our name was changed a few years ago to reflect our expanded services as a Rescue Mission.

Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission serves the homeless through two locations in Philadelphia: a shelter in Center City and a transitional home for women in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia. The Center City shelter also houses a long-term recovery program for men. The Mission does not receive government funding and relies on the generous contributions of caring individuals, families, churches and businesses. Donations are supplemented with income from two thrift stores.
