This is a safe place to get help and a possible job for the day. We open the Bible together at 7am M_F and go do what it teaches us to do. So there is a team effort to all get back on our feet. There is a great atmosphere of success arising at Newark Friendship House. It is a house of hope.

Description: We provide assistance to the homeless in the Newark Delaware area. For us, homeless is defined as anyone who doesn't have control over their surroundings: living on the street, in transitory housing, with friends or family, or in transitional housing. Our volunteers' strategies are to work with the poor to alleviate their current hardships and to help them prepare for the future.

The center's hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons from 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M., located in the Newark United Methodist Church at 69 East Main Street, Newark (rear parking lot entrance).

* Make sure you check by calling the food pantry to confirm that they still are in operation and the hours as the hours have not changed.
