ICONS Food Bank is only allowed to provide food to provide services to persons who have a residence that they rent or own. It does a great job in this effort. This is good for some but unfortunately not all of the hungry in Opelousas. For example the homeless as well as low income individuals in group homes who rent rooms are not eligible for services including food. This is sad and no one seems to care if these people go hungry. Very, Very sad indeed.
