South Florida Opens County Shelters Due To Cold

Broward County will be opening county level homeless shelters over the next few days due to the chill.

Broward County's three shelters are: Pompano Beach City Hall, 100 W. Atlantic Blvd., The Salvation Army, 1445 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale; Broward Outreach Center, 2056 Scott St., Hollywood.

Homeless people must arrive by 6:30 pm.

Palm Beach County has not made the call on whether they will open up county level homeless shelters yet so reports the South Florida Sunsentinel newspaper.

Temperatures will be dropping in to the 40's over the next few nights.

Palm Beach County has two shelters: Salvation Army Center of Hope shelter, 1577 N. Military Trail, west of West Palm Beach, West County Senior Citizens Center, 2916 State Road 15, Belle Glade.

Palm Beach County residents may call 211 to check on whether shelters will open.
