I stayed here for almost 3 months back in 2013-2014. I needed a place to stay due to a unfortunate situation in my life. Someone told me about this place as I was walking around Warren. They didn’t have a bed the first night so I had to sleep on the floor in a spare room, they could have turned me a way but I had a black eye and I’m a older woman and I wasn’t from Michigan or Warren area so they let me in. I received a bed the next day. The staff was very kind and helpful. I was there during Christmas and I enjoyed the Church services that are provided at Matts. The only disadvantage is the Shelter is in a Industrial area, and their are No bus services nearby. I managed to get a job cleaning out old houses that had been abandoned. I saved up most of my money and bought a cheap vehicle so I could return back home. Thank you MATTS!

I was in a difficult place. On the street for over 4 months. It was a bit difficult to gain entry, they were always full. Checked back 3 mornings in a row. A bed opened up. They washed my clothes, provided 3 meals a day. Wish I could improve my income cause housing is hard to find.
