Pacific House Shelter

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, food - breakfast and dinner.
Pacific House is a men's emergency shelter which typically serves 60-85
men each night but often serves 100 or more men during the winter
months. It operates 365 days, 24 hours per day, and provides breakfast
and dinner daily. Individuals are allowed to seek shelter regardless of
sobriety as long as their behavior is appropriate and they follow the
Agency rules and regulations.
The mission of Pacific House is to provide emergency food and shelter for homeless men in lower Fairfield County and to help them live more fulfilling lives through providing support services designed to help them find employment and stable long-term housing.

Do you have any advice for those wanting to stay at this shelter?

  1. Sleep in a cot downstairs rather than a bed upstairs due to bedbugs. And they do make you pay to stay there. 10 bucks a day, which is about 300 bucks a month, which makes it hard to save for a place. I would hide the fact that I'm working so as not to have to pay and do chores instead. This will enable you to properly save and get outta there, as I did within 2 months time.
