Gateway 180 Homeless Services

Gateway180 :: Homelessness Reversed is a valuable resource for women, children and families experiencing the unimaginable burden of homelessness. We provide safe, nurturing emergency shelter and supportive housing services designed to empower adults and families to become independent and permanently housed.

Gateway180 :: Homelessness Reversed operates its 171-bed emergency shelter in a 90-year-old building. With the community's continued support, we will improve our building and improve the quality of support and care we provide for women, children, and families experiencing homelessness. Here are some of our most exciting renovations:
Installation of a new roof and guttering (through a grant from Roofers Local 2 Industry Advancement Fund and Kirberg Company)
Weatherization, including boiler replacement, new water heater, new air-conditioning/heating unit for cafeteria, new appliances, new fire doors, roof insulation, and infiltration work throughout the building (through Department of Natural Resources and the Urban League of Metro St. Louis)

  2. Myself and my 5 children had to share a very small room with another young lady and her 2 small children and the food was Horrible, some of the staff members were very disrespectful and inconsiderate when it came to some people's situation. Also it was highly unsanitary.

The woman i talked too was very rude and denied my family any kind of help. I explained to her that i was a family of 4 ( two kids ages 4yrs old and 3yrs old and my husband and myself) i also explained too her how we are actually on the streets with our kids and we do not have no family or friends that could help us. The womans attitude was very nasty like she was better than everyone else and did not give me her name. She said that you all can not help our family even though 211 UNITED WAY refered my family to this place. Its ashame that my babies has to suffer in this heat with barley any food let-a-lone not having a safe place to lay their hands. You all should be very ashamed of your alls selves.

If this is a shelter to help then why so many negative comments. I was preparing to donate several things and I noticed lot of comment about rude staff, think about it, what if the shoe was on the other foot.
