Veterans Assistance Office

Address
95 Crescent Street
Rutland, VT - 05701

The Dodge House, located at 95 Crescent Street in Rutland, Vermont, is a transitional housing project administered by the Veterans Assistance Office, Inc. (VAO). Since 1998, The Dodge House was the first transitional housing program in Vermont that is specific to Veterans who are homeless.

Our goal is to provide Veterans a base to get their feet back on the ground in the community they volunteered to serve and defend. We provide supportive services during the Veteran's stay at the Dodge and as they eventually move to stable permanent housing in Vermont.

Supportive services include: shelter, employment counseling, job search, financial literacy, educational opportunities and peer networking. These services are provided at no cost to our residents. Referrals to the program at The Dodge House come from the Veterans themselves, friends of Veterans, service organizations, substance abuse treatment centers, emergency homeless shelters, faith based services, Veterans Administration and various other support agencies that come in contact with the Veteran. The Dodge House has had numerous successful residents who have completed their stay here and moved on to further their education, start their own business or simply assimilate into the community as productive members of that community. We do have strict requirements that all residents are drug and alcohol free. For more information about the Dodge House, or if you would like an application please give us a call
